1. OEFEN is not medical care
OEFEN provides general fitness and nutrition planning software. It is not a medical device, healthcare provider, diagnosis, treatment, prescription, rehabilitation programme, or emergency service.
Content from OEFEN, templates, calculations, AI models, barcode sources, and HealthKit connections is informational. It does not replace personalised advice from a doctor, registered dietitian, physiotherapist, psychologist, emergency professional, or other appropriately qualified clinician.
2. Before starting or changing a plan
Seek professional clearance before starting or materially changing exercise or nutrition if you are pregnant or postpartum; have a heart, metabolic, respiratory, neurological, kidney, liver, bone, joint, pain, eating, or mental-health condition; take medication that affects exercise, appetite, hydration, or blood glucose; are recovering from illness, surgery, or injury; or have been instructed to limit activity or food intake. Always follow clinician instructions over OEFEN.
3. Stop and get appropriate help
Stop exercising and seek urgent professional assessment if you experience chest pain or pressure, fainting, severe or unusual shortness of breath, signs of stroke, severe allergic reaction, uncontrolled bleeding, sudden severe pain, confusion, or another symptom that may be an emergency.
If you believe there is an emergency, contact the emergency services available in your location. Do not wait for OEFEN, an AI response, email support, or an app notification.
4. Exercise risk and execution
- Inspect equipment and the training area; use appropriate footwear, ventilation, lighting, hydration, and supervision.
- Use conservative resistance, controlled technique, suitable warm-up, and gradual progression.
- Do not perform a movement you cannot execute safely or that conflicts with a restriction. Use an appropriate substitution or stop.
- Timers, rep targets, RPE, calorie estimates, volume, personal records, and recovery suggestions are estimates, not guarantees.
- Home, outdoor, road, cycling, mountain-biking, running, and HYROX-style activity carry environment-specific risks that OEFEN cannot assess remotely.
5. Nutrition and allergy risk
Calorie and protein ranges are conservative estimates based on the information you provide. Individual energy needs, absorption, medical conditions, medications, food preparation, and product labelling vary. Do not treat an OEFEN target as a prescribed medical diet.
You are responsible for checking every ingredient, label, allergen warning, cross-contamination risk, expiry date, preparation method, and portion. Barcode and food databases can be incomplete or outdated. Never rely on OEFEN alone to determine whether food is safe for an allergy, intolerance, religious requirement, pregnancy, or medical condition.
6. Weight and body-composition goals
Weight can fluctuate for reasons unrelated to fat or muscle. OEFEN does not promise a specific change or timeframe and should not be used for extreme restriction, purging, dehydration, rapid cutting, or another unsafe practice. If tracking weight or food causes distress, compulsive behaviour, or disordered eating, stop using those features and seek qualified support.
7. AI limitations
AI models can hallucinate, misunderstand profile data, omit relevant contraindications, or provide plausible but unsafe suggestions. Profile-based generation and OEFEN validation reduce but do not eliminate these risks.
AI output is shown as a proposal with assumptions, warnings, missing inputs, and a plan difference. It is not activated automatically. Do not ask an AI model connected to OEFEN for diagnosis, prescription, emergency decisions, eating-disorder treatment, or drug protocols.
8. HealthKit and device data
HealthKit values and wearable estimates can be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. OEFEN does not use them as medical measurements. Review data before using it for planning. OEFEN writes a completed workout only after permission and never writes a workout that you did not mark complete. Denying HealthKit access does not prevent manual use of OEFEN.
9. Your responsibility
You decide whether to begin, continue, modify, or stop an activity or dietary change. Keep profile information current, disclose relevant restrictions, choose appropriate substitutions, and obtain professional advice when needed. By using OEFEN, you acknowledge that exercise and nutrition choices involve inherent risk and that software cannot observe your technique, environment, physiology, symptoms, or food preparation.
10. Questions
Product-safety questions can be sent to support@oefen.prestige-worldwide.co.za. OEFEN support cannot provide medical advice or emergency help.
